The New York Times may have called him the “new face of electronic dance music” in a recent profile, but Ryan Raddon, known as Kaskade, has been in the trenches of the EDM scene as an original recording artist and in-demand DJ for more than a decade. He has released seven studio albums, including his latest, Fire & Ice, scored nine Top 10 hits on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay Chart, created chart-topping remixes for everyone from Lady Gaga to Beyoncé, appeared at all the major summer festivals, and has performed between 150 and 200 headlining shows a year for the last 10 years, building a name for himself as an innovator of the EDM scene as we know it today, which has opened doors for the likes of Deadmau5, Tiesto, Skrillex and more. In doing so, he has helped to lay the groundwork for a titanic musical and cultural shift: a post-rock EDM revolution that has captured the imagination of a new generation of music lovers across North America

Kaskade has been named America’s No. 1 DJ by DJ Times and Pioneer DJ. In 2012, he will appear at this year’s Coachella and will hit the road in June for his biggest headlining tour ever — 70-plus North American shows in just over three months. His own live show being a jaw-dropping spectacle that finds him performing in front of a massive LED screen that blares images synched with the music while strobe lights scan the crowd. Kaskade’s belief in the transformative power of dance music to uplift thousands of people at once has had a significant effect on the U.S. scene. His ground-breaking double residency in Las Vegas at the Encore Beach Club (which had not even been built when he signed on) and Marquee has elevated the city’s status as a premiere club-going destination on par with London, Berlin, and Ibiza, is another testament to his influence.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Rose realized she had the gift of singing at a very early age.

Everyone from her mother’s side was a musician. She is the great-grand daughter of the conductor and composer CUPERTINO DE MENEZES and grand daughter of the guitar player and composer MANUEL DE MENEZES. Cupertino, also a flutist, was a band member of a “choro” group led by Callado Junior and Chiquinha Gonzaga, two of the most prominent musicians from this era. Manuel was partner – in music, adventures and “Bohemia – of the most important Brazilian composer in the early 30′s – Noel Rosa.

She started singing professionally with the OCTETO RIO ORCHESTRA performing jn the musically wealthy nightclub scene of Rio. She studied vocal technique with Graciela di Salerno, Nancy Miranda and Suely Mesquita. She also studied theory and ear training at the Instituto Vila Lobos and Centro de Instrução Musical Ian Guest.

Rose graduated with a degree in Portuguese and Literature from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. As a student, she was involved in various theatrical productions with the group “A QUEM INTERESSA.”

Rose Max performed extensively as a soloist with the vocal group AEQUALE under the direction of acclaimed-musical director ANDRÉ PROTÁSIO. Gaining interest and respect locally, she started working with a number of different bands. One of her best experiences was performing at “CLUBE DO SAMBA” (Samba Club) where she had a chance to learn with some of the big names of Brazilian music, such as Maestro Licinho, Neco, Antonio Carlos Tourinho, João Nogueira, and Roberto Ribeiro. She also started working as a session singer, recording jingles and background vocals, which led to the opportunity of backing up some of Brazil’ s most renowned singers.
Rose moved to Miami in October of 1993, where she has been continuing to grow and develop musically, and by keeping a constant performance schedule, she has become highly recognized in the Brazilian, Hispanic and American communities. She won the BRAZILIAN PRESS AWARD for the “Best Female Brazilian Singer Residing and Performing in the USA” in 1997, 1998 and 2001.

PROVIDENCIA is a band from Medellin city wich emerged in 2001, working hard within the independent music scene in Colombia, making its lyrics, taking the reality of their environment. Taking as base language the Jamaican music (Reggae, Dub, Ska , Rocksteady, Dancehall) with some latin and urban mergers. Today ends the promotion of its debut album “Radio Candela” and preparing what will be its next album.

In 2009 Providencia receives Subterrania award for Best Reggae group, with over 350 concerts all over Medellin, 9 cities of Colombia and Ecuador. Providencia has been invited to the biggest music festivals in Colombia as, Altavoz, Rock al Parque, Manizales Grita Rock, Ibague Ciudad Rock, Miche Rock Festival.

The name “KOLABO” was adopted as a short name for “Collaboration,” which is, literally speaking, a group of people working together to achieve a common goal. That is, basically, how the band works throughout a song, rehearsal, gig or any event.

The reason for choosing Reggae as the main “riddim” and style in the band is due to reggae’s tradition of social criticism in its lyrics, although many of the songs discuss lighter, more personal subjects, such as love and socializing.

Kolabo Sound System is a band currently residing in Miami Beach, Florida. Including members mainly from Venezuela, their sound is what they call REGGAE INNA LATIN STYLE! but also has influences of hip hop and Jamaican Roots Reggae.
The connection comes when you turn it up, and you’re transported to a funky, soulful, urban island in the middle of paradise. Miami-based group Elastic Bond mixes traditional Latin, Soul and Afro grooves, with modern electronic sounds. With a solid foundation of organic songwriting, melodic vocals and good vibes, Elastic Bond delivers music even your mom would like. Venezuelan producer Andres Ponce and Honduran singer-songwriter Sofy Encanto formed the band in 2006, and soon after guitarist Buffalo Brown and trumpet player David Burgos joined forces to expand its unique sound. Their latest release “Frecuencia Natural EP” solidifies Elastic Bond’s inventive fusion of styles that enchants listeners as diverse as the city they call home.

“Intoxicating. Engaging. Irresistible.”

Brazilian American singer songwriter, Mônica da Silva has just released a new album, “Brasilissima” on Socialite Fiasco Music. “Brasilissima” draws from both the Brazilian and American cultures, and is a throwback to the days of Astrud Gilberto with plenty of modern elements and edge. Putumayo Records is excited to feature Mônica’s first single “Aí Então, on their forthcoming compilation called “Brazilian Beat” due to be released in January 2012. Putumayo has already sold over 27 million of their renowned compilations worldwide, introducing the world to the music of many up and coming artists.

Best known for her multi-lingual music productions that span five languages – English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and French, you may have already heard some of Mônica’s music and not even realized it. Many of her songs have been featured on national and international commercials, and prime time shows on MTV, CBS, NBC, HGTV, E!, and The Style Network, just to list a few.

Teaming up her talents with guitarist and songwriting partner, Chad Alger, has led to an incredible energy and compatibility that is revealed in their live performances and on their album. “The music this couple produces flows from the stage like cool water mixed with fiery sparkles of passion.”
Miami’s Acontece Magazine, recently called Mônica’s music the “future of Bossa Nova with the face of youth today”.

LIV presents Patrick M Thursday, March 1st alongside Mednas

Artists
Patrick M
Mednas

Based in the Dance Music Capital of Miami Beach USA! Patrick M‘s story as a dj/producer stared long ago with no end in sight. Originally from Buenos Aires Argentina, Patrick led the way there for house music and the dj culture during the 1990′s. Patrick’s forward sound became his trademark serving up dance floors with his brand of twisted, deep, tribal house. AS a dj Patrick gained notoriety quickly playing South American hotspots, Buenos Aires News, El Divino and Pacha’s clubland. Playing side by side with the likes of Global Underground superstars Hernan Cattaneo and Lee Buridge, Patrick was able to help in paving the way for electronic music in Argentina and putting them on the global map.

With bigger expectations and musical ambitions Patrick set his eyes on Miami during the year 2003. With monthly bookings in Miami it was not long before the sandy shores and progressive club culture called Patrick’s name.

Opportunity knocked even louder in Miami, Patrick joined up with Buenos Aires based music store Chopin Hagen in introducing their Miami concept Grooveman Music. The store serves as the primary supplier of the dirty house and dance music in South Florida. Patrick’s knowledge in music has led him to be the supplier of the “Miami Sound” to many of the djs and producers that make this there home including Oscar G, Robbie Rivera and Cedric Gervais.

Miami became the next phase in Patrick’s dj and production career. Crobar, Amika and Nikki Beach have all taken to his style in the past three years and made him a welcome resident in the ‘land of clubs’ Angel Moraes, Jo Mills, Pete Tong, Armand Van Helden, Yoursef, Ralph Falcon, Steve Lawler and his very good friend djs dj ‘Danny Tenaglia’ have teamed up with him on the decks to deliver brutal blows to the masss in Miami.

ARTISTS
Bart B More
Ross One
Jessica Who
Contra

Combining Bart B More’s love for beat-driven, looped techno music with big room house and electro Bart has been able to create a refreshing new cross-over sound. Resulting in highly successful remixes like Chocolate Puma’s “ Touch Me” (Beatport nr. 1!), Sandy Rivera’s “Freak” (Pete Tong Essential New Tune) and Ron Carroll’s “Walking Down The Street”. Not to mention original material like “Make Some Noise”, “Killing It” and “Finally” vs Oliver Twizt, which reached Beatport’s nr. 2 chart position!

Delivering (Dutch) dopeness to dancefloors from Miami to Paris, Middlesborough to Prague and Sydney to Amsterdam, Bart knows how to win a crowd. Secure Recordings, Bart’s own imprint, has been running at full force with successful releases and labelnights. With upcoming releases, remixes and worldwide support from the likes of Laidback Luke, Diplo, Crookers, Switch, Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo, Tiesto and Armin van Buren we can truly say Bart is up there, right where he should be.
