Join us this Saturday at Louis Bar & Lounge in the Gansevoort South Hotel for the debut of the new “paper couture” line Jenny Lu by fashion artist Julia Veli. Fourteen new never before seen designs will be shown along with a presentation displayed with projectors throughout the venue.

The evening is hosted by Miami’s favorite event photographer Tomas Loewy.

Last week I went to Fashionably Wednesdays at the Plunge Rooftop of the Gansevoort Hotel. I had been seeing the flyers and invites on Facebook, but this time was special. Fevi Reyes Designs was going to be on display. So although I can easily walk there every week, last week was the first time I motivated and it was worth every drop of sweat that night.

I feel like gained some new fashion friends that are lovely, talented and sweet. I met up with Susan Merlo of Merlo Jewelry there. We both met for the first time in person Fevi Reyes and her friend Maria Lepe of Lepe Fashion. Maria is the head designer for her line and features the cutest dresses. They were sharing a display and although the night started hot and humid both girls were gracious and welcoming.

Yes, there were lots of great booths and displays around the fabulous rooftop pool that night. I probably could have done a better job of remembering. All I recall now is the cute blond girls that flew out from LA to sell LMFAO “I’m in Miami B****” shirts and accessories. Honestly, I was just so excited to be meeting Fevi and Maria I forgot all about the other booths. I definitely will be going back and pay more attention to the other designers.

Tara Ink presented four hot swimsuit lines for a fashion show at the Gansevoort Hotel Pool during Mercedes-Benz Swimsuit Fashion Week 2009. We meet Nichole Carroll from Tyler Rose Swimwear who tells us about the nightmare of losing your bikinis at the airport. Keva of KevaJ Designs presented an tribal African dancers at the beginning of her show. Pooneh Mohazzabi from Jogo Beach had very cool metallic designs on her swimsuits. Key Biscayners Liza + Tara were there showing off how tropical cover-ups should be worn in this crazy summer heat. Thanks to Tara Ink for an amazing show with talented designers.

Meet the designer Jaclyn York from House of Jackie Brown and her bikini babes as they strut down the runway at their exclusive party for the Mercedes-Benz Swimsuit Fashion Week at the Gansevoort Hotel South Plunge rooftop pool. The makeup and the swimsuits were very sexy super 80’s. “The 80’s never left” says one model and she is right in certain cities we still see the neon look. And there’s a hint of 80’s with Lady Gaga, Kanye West, and Katy Perry. Who wants to be a lollipop after seeing this video?

We also talk to Alex Sumner, ‘the’ VIP Host at the Hotel. Always good to know someone who knows how to get things done in this town. Noticed his pants? That will certainly get you noticed in a town of colorful characters and sexy outfits.
