Sex and the City 2 Party at RikRak with Miami Bloggers
I don’t remember there being so many parties and events for the first Sex and the City movie. SATC2 seems to have a life of its own. I had heard about the theaters in NYC selling out due to group outings and travel packages being put together. I was very excited when I received an invitation to attend the RikRak Salon and Chevrolet ”SATC2 Movie & a Makeover” event in Brickell.
The cool thing for me was that most of the guests invited are bloggers or journalists. So although I only knew a couple of girls upon arriving at the event such as @midtownchica and @vicequeenmaria, I left with new friends that share similar interests as me. Hooray for fashion, twittering, and blogging!
RikRak Salon is on Brickell Avenue and although I don’t go regularly for my personal grooming. I have been to the salon before for fun events. The owners Raquel and Ric are gracious and welcoming. I really enjoy the atmosphere and trendy boutique. The salon treated the guests of the event with manis, blow-outs, and great RikRak hair products. Ric gave me a detailed explanation about the sulfate-free shampoo and all natural hair mask. I love hair products because in Miami we need to beat the heat.
Part of the swagger for the event was being chauffered to South Beach Regal Cinemas in Chevrolet SUVs. I have ridden in them before at the Chevy Pizza Crawl. They are big, spacious, and more fun to ride in when someone else is driving.
Oh and I really liked the movie! I know it’s not an Oscar winner. It delivered what I wanted which was laughs, fashion, and frivolity!
