Cosmic Twins Spin
Saturday night, June 20th, 2009 at Nocturnal Derrick May and Francois K, better known as the “Cosmic Twins” will be spinning. My friend Nelson Fernandez aka DJ Nova from Pornograph Events will be opening for them. I’ve been friends with Nelson for many years now. He knows house music very well. Lives it, loves, plays it. He called me super excited one day to tell me about this event he was putting together.

I like house music, but not enough to identify who is who. Nelson called me again this week to see if I was coming to the event. I definitely want to support him and I would like to dance all night but I work on the weekends. He finally put the magnitude of this event in terms I could understand. He said to me, “Jeile, imagine that Jimi Hendrix and Elvis Presley got together to play music in Miami.”
So the Cosmic Twins play the best in minimal Funk Electro, Dirty Tech-House, and funky Techno. I did not realize there were so many abberations of house. When I listened to house music I recall that we would mostly just distinguish between drum and bass, trance, and house. Or I guess drum and bass is not house. It is just drum and bass. See, I am not technically clued in on the classification of electronic music. However, I do love Winter Music Conference.
I know events and people. Nelson knows house music. So when he tells me this is a must-go-to event, I take his word for it.
