I don’t remember there being so many parties and events for the first Sex and the City movie. SATC2 seems to have a life of its own. I had heard about the theaters in NYC selling out due to group outings and travel packages being put together. I was very excited when I received an invitation to attend the RikRak Salon and Chevrolet  ”SATC2 Movie & a Makeover” event in Brickell.

The cool thing for me was that most of the guests invited are bloggers or journalists. So although I only knew a couple of girls upon arriving at the event such as @midtownchica and @vicequeenmaria, I left with new friends that share similar interests as me. Hooray for fashion, twittering, and blogging!

RikRak Salon is on Brickell Avenue and although I don’t go regularly for my personal grooming. I have been to the salon before for fun events. The owners Raquel and Ric are gracious and welcoming. I really enjoy the atmosphere and trendy boutique. The salon treated the guests of the event with manis, blow-outs, and great RikRak hair products. Ric gave me a detailed explanation about the sulfate-free shampoo and all natural hair mask. I love hair products because in Miami we need to beat the heat.

Part of the swagger for the event was being chauffered to South Beach Regal Cinemas in Chevrolet SUVs. I have ridden in them before at the Chevy Pizza Crawl. They are big, spacious, and more fun to ride in when someone else is driving.

Oh and I really liked the movie! I know it’s not an Oscar winner. It delivered what I wanted which was laughs, fashion, and frivolity!

It’s a typical wintertime Saturday night in Miami and ‘You Go Where We Go’. Tonight we started on the red carpet at the Miami International Film Festival and chatted with the hot model for the festival’s poster. We were privileged to talk with Argentine director of “The Secret in Their Eyes” Juan Jose Campanella, winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film this year. Richard was also on the runway and backstage at the Fashion Miami show with designer Custo of Custo Barcelona. Richard then found himself in the middle of filming of an episode for Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Miami and talking with Alexia Echevarria, one of the stars who is also Executive Editor of Venue Magazine. Richard also talked with the stars of USA Network’s Burn Notice Jeffrey Donovan and Gabrielle Anwar. Richard spoke with Niels Arden Oplev, the director of the much anticipated Scandinavian feature film “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”. It is based on the first book of a trilogy by Swedish writer and activist Stieg Larrson. This was a major best selling book in Europe and the film is a hugh success there. This showing at the Miami International Film Festival was an East Coast Premiere. The movie will open nationally in the US.

“The Beach Chronicles” Halloween event is on October 30th to The Victor Hotel. I went to the premiere at the Miami Beach Cinematheque in September and it was a packed house. The animated movie was a fun sci-fi twist on the nitty gritty South Beach life.

I went to the premiere with Richard Fendelman. Thank goodness he saved me a seat. They planned for two screenings that night and both were packed. So if that’s a sign of their fans and local support, I am sure the Halloween gala will be a blast.

BRPR and Select Vodka present The Beach Chronicles “Cherry is Coming” Halloween gala. They will premiere the latest vignette “The Order Moves In” and showcase the first chronicle featuring Jimmy Jean Louis from the television show HEROES. Expect celebrities, expect press, expect an event like no other. Go dressed in your best costume for a chance to be immortalized in the next chronicle “Miami Circle in a Box”. There will be complimentary TBC cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and more.
