Kasha and Richard head over to Laurent Bourgade’s party My Boyfriend is Out of Town at Vita Restaurant on Collins Avenue. If you are a Facebook friend of Laurent’s you would definitely know about this party. And if you know about this party, there are plenty of deliciously good reasons to meet up with your girlfriends on a Wednesday night at Vita. We at Go Live Miami know that when people move to town they might be intimidated by the scene. Really if you know a promoter like Laurent, you’ll be guided to some of the best parties South Beach has going on. Everyone just wants to have a good time, dance, and be friendly. Of course, it helps that Miami has so many beautiful people that we can share good times with. When was the last time you went out for a swanky dinner party?

I went as a ‘first time’ paparazzi to see Paris and Nicki Hilton at one of the hottest clubs in Miami….Karu&Y. Our usual Host, Jeile Marie, came down with laryngitis from doing so many interviews at Art Basel Miami Beach last week, that I decided to try one on my own as the Host.

Saturday night, June 20th, 2009 at Nocturnal Derrick May and Francois K, better known as the “Cosmic Twins” will be spinning. My friend Nelson Fernandez aka DJ Nova from Pornograph Events will be opening for them. I’ve been friends with Nelson for many years now. He knows house music very well. Lives it, loves, plays it. He called me super excited one day to tell me about this event he was putting together.

So the Cosmic Twins play the best in minimal Funk Electro, Dirty Tech-House, and funky Techno. I did not realize there were so many abberations of house. When I listened to house music I recall that we would mostly just distinguish between drum and bass, trance, and house. Or I guess drum and bass is not house. It is just drum and bass. See, I am not technically clued in on the classification of electronic music. However, I do love Winter Music Conference.

I know events and people. Nelson knows house music. So when he tells me this is a must-go-to event, I take his word for it.
