Fuerza Bruta Adrienne Arsht Center
Richard & I were invited to go for the sneak preview on press day for the new show at the Adrienne Arsht Center Fuerza Bruta. The creator of Fuerza Bruta is also the creator of De La Guarda. I went to De La Guarda twice in New York many years ago and loved it! Fuerza Bruta had the same energy and sensation.
I interviewed Scott Shiller who is Executive VP at the Adrienne Arsht Center. He was one of the driving forces for bringing this show to Miami. Kudos to him and the team for bringing a show to Miami that you would only expect to see in cities like New York or London.
It was an innovative idea to have the audience enter through the loading zone vs. the traditional entrance at the front of the theater. This change is your first clue that the show you’re about to watch is unique and different from any other shows the Arsht Center has put on in the past.
The G Lounge by Barton G is equally cool as the show. The snacks, drinks, music, lights, decor all mimic the energy of Fuerza Bruta. I loved my empanada on a stick. The bag of nuts and pecans were equally delicious. The music was pounding & rhythmic. The lights everywhere were eye candy.
On opening night there was a red carpet laid out. People were taking pictures starting at the red carpet and as soon as they walked into the backstage. The entire space really transported you out of Miami. The feeling continued once the show started. We interviewed people after the show and it was repeatedly said, “It was awesome! There’s no words to describe it.” So I’ll leave it at that. You just need to go check out Fuerza Bruta this summer. Get ready to dance, jump, and laugh!
Check out the video on the homepage of Fuerza Bruta Miami. Richard produced and directed a great piece highlighting the show and I am the host.
